Opportunities to get involved

As we begin to settle into the vacancy period, we are really appreciative of those who are taking on additional responsibilities and trying their hand at new things. Any church is always reliant on its members and wider community to enable things to happen, and in a vacancy that is especially the case.

To help with managing the various elements involved in running a church, we have set up a number of new small teams, which together with the existing teams mean much of our church life is supported. These teams include:

- Worship & Rotas - Yvonne Fealey

- Fabric - Jo Lyddiatt

- Eco - Kate Dyerson

- Events - Nicki Hunt

- Finance - David Perry

- Communications - Neil Lyddiatt

- Safeguarding & Visiting - Helen Perry

There are of course many other groups and activities which continue as before.

As usual, significant decisions in any of these areas are brought to PCC and the final legal responsibility (which would normally sit with the incumbent) is held by the Wardens, Carolyn & Andy, and the Area Dean, Ellen.

If you are able to help in any of these areas, please do speak to the team lead. We are especially looking for people to help with:

- Sound desk

- Junior Church

- Coffee rota

- Events planning and delivery

- Parish visiting

And of course there is plenty of scope to help in other areas as well, with existing ongoing groups and with one-off projects eg maintenance projects and seasonal events.

Please do have a think and pray where and how you might be involved, and speak to the team leaders or to Ellen, Carolyn or Andy if you have ideas or suggestions.

Of course, please continue to pray for St Anne's and for the person God might be calling to this parish as our next incumbent. You might like to use this prayer as you do so:

God our Father, you have welcomed each one of us in Jesus and called us to be His body in this place: Send your Holy Spirit at this time of uncertainty and change, to fill us with vision, energy, and faithfulness in prayer, that we may be true to our calling to bring new life to our community.

Give your heavenly wisdom to those who are to choose a new vicar for this parish, that she or he may be a wise and gentle shepherd of your people, ready to serve us with joy, to build us up in faith and to lead us by example in loving obedience to your Son, Jesus Christ.

Amen.
