Hymns We Love - Lent Course
This Lent we will be running 'Hymns We Love', a 5-week course which explores the origins and meanings of some well-loved hymns. It is intended to appeal to both Christians and non-Christians alike - something which will deepen the appreciation and meaning of these hymns for those of us who sing them often in church, and which will explain some of their underpinning Christian beliefs to those who might know and love the hymns from school days but who haven't thought about them much since then.
The course will run on Friday afternoons, from 1.30-2.30pm in the church centre, starting on 27th Feb. Each session will include some input from the front and plenty of time for conversation and discussion over refreshments, and as each week focusses on a different hymn it's no problem if you can only make it to some of the sessions.
It will be lovely to see many familiar faces there, but this is also a great opportunity to invite your friends who might not usually come to church to a gentle, friendly and interesting gathering. If you'd like to find out a bit more before you invite them you can watch a trailer here: thegoodbook.co.uk/downloads/hwl_promo_b2c_v2.mp4 (1080p).mp4 or feel free to ask Ellen about it.
We'd also love a few people to help with welcoming people and serving refreshments, whether you can help every week or just for one or two - please let Ellen or Dina know if you could help with this.
