In the Community

At St Anne's the church building is the focal point of our Sunday worship, but we have a vision of ourselves as being an outward looking church, bringing the Good News of Jesus into the village and community life.

To this end we are always looking for new ideas as to how we can serve the village and show the effect of Christ on our relationship with the world.

Saturday 29th October: Litter Pick. A team from St Anne's borrowed litter pick sticks and orange vests and spent an hour one Saturday morning clearing litter from the streets, verges, hedges and open spaces of the village. Bagshot is a fairly tidy village but even in that short time we filled 4 black sacks with litter. We intend to make this a quarterly event so do please keep an eye on the Diary and Notices for the next In the Community events and come along and join in. We met a lot of our neighbours out and about who were all supportive and grateful and we had some gently exercise into the bargain, followed of course, by a restorative coffee.

Saturday 13th November: The Christmas Mini Market is on Saturday 13th November in the Church Centre from 10-12noon, so do come and buy your Christmas presents and stop for a coffee and seasonal refreshments. There are new stalls this year, so please come and do bring your friends.

Donations of quality items such as stationery, jewellery, gifts and home-made produce may be left at the back of church. (Please, no bric-à-brac or clothing).

What it means to be a Christian.

Christian life is lived in relationship with God through Jesus Christ, and in common with other Christians in the church seeking to deepen that relationship and to follow the way that Jesus taught.

For Christians God is understood and known as Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

…Father… God is love, caring for creation and for every human being as God's beloved child.

…Son… God is as he has revealed himself to be in the historical person of Jesus Christ. Jesus' life, death and resurrection holds the key to knowing and loving God, and to making sense of life, before and after death.

…and Holy Spirit… God is alive, loving and active today, inspiring faith, justice and truth, sustaining the life of the world, giving spiritual gifts to the church and bearing his spiritual fruit in the world - changed lives and a transformed society.
