Verona Singers' Annual Christmas Concert

The next social event to be held in St Anne's is on December 5th at 7.30pm.

We are very much looking forward to hosting the Verona Singers (conductor Jonathan Holl) for their, now traditional, concert of celebratory music for Chrstmas in aid of charity.

The first half of the programme consists of two short, joyful and very appropriate works- the ever popular Vivaldi Gloria, to be followed by the Magnificat in C, by Schubert.

The second half, as usual, will consist of Carols, some old, some new and some with audience participation.

Following the concert there will be wine and soft drinks available in the church centre.

What it means to be a Christian.

Christian life is lived in relationship with God through Jesus Christ, and in common with other Christians in the church seeking to deepen that relationship and to follow the way that Jesus taught.

For Christians God is understood and known as Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

…Father… God is love, caring for creation and for every human being as God's beloved child.

…Son… God is as he has revealed himself to be in the historical person of Jesus Christ. Jesus' life, death and resurrection holds the key to knowing and loving God, and to making sense of life, before and after death.

…and Holy Spirit… God is alive, loving and active today, inspiring faith, justice and truth, sustaining the life of the world, giving spiritual gifts to the church and bearing his spiritual fruit in the world - changed lives and a transformed society.

2010 Social Events

Fish n Chip Lunches: The autumn Fish & Chip lunches at Jack's Fish & Chips on the bypass will be on 12th October and 9th November. We meet there at 12.15 and there is no need to book - just turn up. For seniors there is a discount - free chips with your fish.

Lunch at the Pond: Our most recent social has been the 2010 Lunch at the Pond in July.

We were blessed with a beautiful day for it - anyone who had fallen into the pond would have dried out in no time!

Profound thanks to Sue for organising it, and to Buzz and Diana Hornett for once again opening their beautiful gardens for us to use.
